Moncton’s Halls Creek Park
Officially, this is the City of Moncton’s Hall’s Creek Park, but it seems like a lot of folks refer to it as the Marjorie Street Playground. You can find it just off Church Street, overlooking the former Moncton High School sports field. It’s a fun place to watch the traffic go by on Wheeler Boulevard from a safe distance!
This playground was recently updated & it’s a fantastic little spot. Shout out to a few Pickle Planet followers who live nearby & let us know to check it out!
BONUS: If you’re in the mood to explore, the Hall’s Creek Trail is a fairly easy, well-used 5.5km loop that skirts the river & allows dogs on leash.
We love that this space has some great climbing options that capture the attention of older kids!
The ‘surf board’ was a big hit, too!
There is a smaller structure with a double slide that’s great for younger kids.
When we visited there were six swings, two of which were infant swings.
There are quite a few benches and a tabletop with a chessboard built in.
Cool feature alert: There’s a wonderful little paved path around this mostly fenced-in playground (there is an entrance that doesn’t have a closed gate) that’s perfect for scooters, skateboarders or those learning to bike!
There’s also a single basketball hoop with a small court.
Overall, this is a fantastic space if you have a mix of ages you’re trying to entertain all at once!
Getting here: It’s not ideal for parking on the street (though possible), but this is a fantastic walking/biking destination if you’re in this area of Moncton. Drop 51 Marjorie Street in your GPS/Map app to find your way here!
DID YOU KNOW: The City of Moncton alone has 45 playgrounds? Combine that with Riverview’s 24 playgrounds, Dieppe’s 20, and all the other great playgrounds in the GMA, we still have lots to explore! Come back each week (April through October) for a new Pickle Planet Playground Profile – but until then, check out the dozens of places we’ve already profiled!
