Riverview East Playground
I love using the summer holidays to check out school playgrounds! If you don’t live in this area of Riverview, it’s unlikely you’ve driven past the awesome playground at Riverview East, a K-8 school tucked away on the top of a hill, on a dead-end street. But it’s worth checking out, especially if you have kiddos who enjoy climbing.
The playground surface is gravel and it’s huge, with lots of fencing around the site! There are two play structure areas with a lot of space in between with some twirly seats, teeter totters, and climbing web.
One structure is awesome for climbing, with a rock wall, some neat features, and three slides. It has some low, wide entry points and some shady platforms.
Another structure is smaller, with a twirly slide and a large but low slide with three tracks down – great for the younger kiddos. It connects to a taller part with more neat climbing features.
There’s a basketball court and a soccer field that was being used for kite flying during our visit. This playground is meant to entertain roughly 600 students in Kindergarten to Grade 8, so there’s a little bit of something for almost all ages.
Riverview East is a great space for bigger kids who love to climb! It is a school, so plan your visits accordingly. To find this spot, set your GPS to 49 Chambers Road, Riverview, New Brunswick. It’s off Old Coach Road, which isn’t far from the Gunningsville Bridge.
