LOOKING FOR THINGS TO DO FOR MARCH BREAK 2023? CLICK HERE.
Below is the 2020 list.
Since 2015 Pickle Planet Moncton has been creating weekly round ups of family-friendly events in the Greater Moncton Area. For March Break 2020, we’re listing events from February 28 to March 8.
Items are listed in chronological order and are based on information we could find online. Please click through our links to the source to confirm details – we can’t always update when weather shifts, etc. At the end of the list of events by date you’ll find more ideas about local fun places to visit, then some ideas of day trips you might want to take as well!
You might also want to check out some of our focused seasonal round ups, like indoor & outdoor skating times, Winter Fun that includes sleigh rides and skiing opportunities, arcades, swimming, our list of maple camps around the province, and more. We also have a MEGA GUIDE to Family Fun in Moncton; you can find highlights from that at the end of this post, under the heading ONGOING EVENTS & ATTRACTIONS.
If you find this resource useful, we ask that you share it with your friends & family, please! This list is not sponsored by any organization and takes days to produce; your thanks in spreading the word means so much!! (If you have a March Break event that should be included, please email us & we’ll try to update as quickly as possible.)

ROAD TRIP IDEAS
Halifax is always a fun outing; we spent 24 hours there to kick off March Break last year and it was fantastic! (Read about it here!) This year, the Discovery Centre is listing special events during our March Break and the Museum of Natural History has a display about Egypt and mummies.
Fredericton is on our to visit list this March Break; we’re thinking Science East, maybe Quilli’s Family Fun inflatables, and a trip to The Shake Shack! What are your must-visit spots in our capitol city?!
Saint John visits always include pool time at the Aquatic Centre and treats at Freak Lunchbox. What about you? If you’re heading to Saint John, check out the March Break round up from our friends at Network of Moms!
Saint Andrews isn’t just a summer destination! The Algonquin Resort offers a fun March Break package, Huntsman Marine Science Centre / Fundy Discovery Aquarium has afternoon workshops, and nearby the Chocolate Museum in Saint Stephen is a fascinating slice of New Brunswick history, telling the story of Ganong. During March Break you can enjoy hands-on chocolate activities, including making your own bark between 1&3pm on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.
We’d love to know your March Break road trip recommendations! Pop them in the comments!
Before we let you go, a few quick tips we’ve learned over the years to make the most of March Break.
Chill the schedule. Pick just one or two activities each day – a mix of a timed event and an at-home one, ideally. Try to block your time in big chunks (let’s do this in the morning, and this in the afternoon) rather than trying to stick to a tight schedule.
Remember to eat. If you’re used to the kids being at school for lunch and grabbing a quick bite on your own, making a full lunch can throw your whole routine off. My suggestion: Give your kids ownership of this meal and help them learn to prepare it if they don’t already know how. Other options include having the first person up pop something in the slow cooker!
Ask the kids. They might just want to spend a day playing video games and reading stories together on the couch. Don’t tell yourself you need to take advantage of all the events happening if what will make everyone happy is some quiet, quality time together at home! You might even embrace the idea of ‘love bombing’ your kids this March Break. Plan a one-on-one day – but beyond that, all the planning is up to them!
Thanks so much for coming to Pickle Planet! Please, share our March Break list with all your friends & family – and take some time to check out our other posts!
Pickle Planet Playground Reviews
We’re on a mission to visit every park and playground in Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe, and the surrounding communities so that you can have the information you need – which are fenced in, where there are washrooms, how to find water features, and so much more. Watch for new playgrounds to be added this spring!
