Friday Family Events (June 26, 2026)
A reminder that the Moncton Public Library’s fundraising book sale is still on! It wraps up Sunday, so get in & snag some summer reads while supporting their work.
Riverview’s annual kick off to summer, SUNFEST, takes place today through July 1, with lots of fabulous programming for all ages! Today’s SUNFEST fun includes a free open swim at the Ken Gabbey Pool from 1:15-3:30pm, free lemonade at participating businesses, Dunkorama (dunk tank, BBQ, free skateboarding, and jam session) 5-9pm, & IHW Wrestling at Coverdale Centre.
Pops NB & MOSAÏQ are teaming up for a free community BBQ & concert at Victoria Park in Moncton, starting at 5pm (music at 6pm).
There’s a Glow dance party for kids at the Magnetic Hill Community Centre tonight, with different times based on ages. Check their event for ticket details.
Madagascar Independence Day will be celebrated at Centennial Park, with singing, dancing, fashion show, and more with the Malagasy Cultural & Sport Club, 6-9pm.
- 📽️ This weekend at the Neptune Drive In you can see Toy Story 5 followed by Ready or Not 2.
- 📽️ Sussex Drive In is showing Toy Story 5 and The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Guess what? The Summer Math Challenge from SN Learning Studio starts Sunday! Sign up (there is a fee), get weekly math challenges via email, return for a chance to win prizes!
Saturday Family Events (June 27, 2026)
Saturdays are market days – and today marks the scheduled start of a new, seasonal outdoor market at the Chocolate River Station in Riverview, at 8:30am.
- The Moncton Market is open 8am-2pm on Saturdays.
- The Dieppe Market is open 8am-1pm on Saturdays.
- The Salisbury Farmers & Artisans Market is open Saturdays, 8am-1:30pm. Pair it with a trip to the Antiques Mall next door, then up the road to the Green Pig, open daily 9am-7pm!
- Bouctouche Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays, 8am-1pm.
- Shediac’s art market, Maritime Crafts & More, is open Wednesdays to Sundays, 10am-5pm.
There’s also a pop-up vendor market scheduled for outside You’re Home Gifts Gifts & Decor today, 10am-1pm.
If you enjoy running as a family, check out the new Beat the Bore fun run happening at part of SUNFEST. There’s a chance at 8:30am today & again tomorrow morning.
At 10am, the Riverfront will be transformed into an incredible art show with Art in Your Face, featuring dozens of local artists showcasing their work. There will be face painting, coffee, a BBQ fundraiser, and more. (Learn more on our podcast chat with organizer, Marion.)
The kids will love heading to BGC Riverview’s Family Fun Day at 50 Runneymeade Road, noon-4pm. Enjoy the splash pad & playground, bouncy castles, petting zoo, and more – including an awesome vendor market inside from 11am-3pm.
Also happening for SUNFEST today: 3-on-3 basketball tournament, disc golf HuckFest, & the TD Summer Reading Club launch Party at the library.
Salisbury is hosting a free Learn to Play Baseball event today at 10am (on the ballfields behind Salisbury Regional School).
Today is also is Sparkfest: Canadian Multiculturalism Day with free events downtown, kicking off with the MOSAÏQ Parade of Nations from Oak Lane, down Main Street, to Riverfront Park at 10am. At the park from 12-8pm there will be cultural booths, food, musical performances, and more as part of their cultural village.
There’s also a free multiculturalism day celebration at Dieppe’s Place 1604, 4:30-11pm, with live performances, vendors, inflatables, food, and more.
A reminder that public libraries are filled with fantastic events – including today’s showing of Paddington in Peru at the Moncton library (in English at 11:30am & in French at 2pm).
The Canadian Armwrestling Nationals are being held at the Moncton Coliseum this weekend, with competitions Saturday & Sunday.
The outdoor roller disco previously postponed by the rain on June 13 is now scheduled for today, 2-4pm, outside the Avenir Centre.
Sunday Family Events (June 28, 2026)
Sundays are market days in Shediac, with an awesome collection of vendors & more at Pascal Poirier Park, 9am-2pm.
There’s also a Sunday outdoor market in Riverside-Albert, at the Albert County Exhibition Fairgrounds. 10am-2pm.
The awesome folks at Travel to You Zoo are hosting a Barn Party, 10am-4pm, where you can visit will all kinds of fun animals! Admission is $10/person (children three and under are free), cash preferred. You can also buy animal feed bags, snacks, plants, and more on site, as well as pay for horse back rides.
SUNFEST continues with a drop-in invite to visit our friends at Alison Dawn Voice & Music 1-3pm & several workshops. Beat the Bore fun run is happening at 9:20am at the covered bridge on the Riverview side of Riverfront Trail.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are schedule to make a stop in Moncton this afternoon. Head to Bore Park from 1-4:30pm (and catch some live music, too) – or just look up!
The Canadian Armwrestling Nationals wrap up today at the Moncton Coliseum.
The Moncton Mets host PEI tonight at 7pm at Kiwanis Field.

OUTDOOR FUN
The Boardwalk is open for the season, weather permitting. (Driving Range, Go- Karts, Bumper Cars, Bumper Boats, Paddle Boats, Mini Golf & Butterfly World.)
Magic Mountain is open for the season with all the Zones – amusement rides, arcade, mini golf, & the water fun!
East Coast Karting is open for the season, weather permitting.
- The Magnetic Hill Zoo is open seven days a week now!
Llamazing Adventures is a great way to get out & get moving! You can take the llamas for a walk all through the year.
- Boyle Family Farm is open for private bookings & special occasions.
- Trueman Blueberry Farms has an outdoor play area, a train that circles the property, amazing treats, and more!
The City of Moncton has four designated spaces for wheeled fun (skateboarding, BMWX, etc.): the Downtown Skate Park on Assomption Blvd., the Renton All-Wheels Park on Noel St., the Lewisville Skate Park on Glenmoor Dr., and at the YMCA Moncton North on Twin Oaks Dr.

There’s a borrowing program at YMCA North with skateboards, helmets, and protective gear for use on their great outdoor ramps when weather permits. The all wheels park is open daily till dusk.
There’s a roughly one hour iTour of downtown Moncton’s historical & cultural locations you can use to help you explore – a great way to add a little movement, a little history, and a little fun to your family outings! (And we hear it’s just been updated, too!)
- Be sure to check out all the amazing public art installations around the downtown core, too!
- From June through October, the public is welcome to use the track at the Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on the Université de Moncton campus Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm – except during competitions & major events, like the Jonas Brothers concert! (It’s accessible starting at 7am in the spring.)
- The City of Moncton’s outdoor pools are scheduled to open June 20 for the 2026 season. A reminder the pools are cash free & children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. There’s a heated pool at the East End Park (open daily 11am-7pm, with a $30 season pass or $8 pass for five visits) and a pool at Centennial Park (open daily 11am-7pm, with a $50 season pass, $20 pass for five visits, or $5/youth/visit)
- There are pickleball & tennis courts at four city parks; you need to bring your own rackets, balls, and/or paddles. Find them at Candlewood, Lewisville, East End, and Alexander Parks. You can register for a code to use the equipment kept on-site for the Shuffleboard Court at Fairview Knoll Park. Basketball courts are found at 19 different city parks & playgrounds.
- Poley Mountain’s bike park will open June 6 for the summer season.
INDOOR IDEAS
Resurgo Place is a spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too! (Closed on Mondays.) The current temporary display is all about dinosaurs!
Homarus Centre in Shediac is open for the season. Touch tanks for the win!
Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.
Burn off energy at SkyZone Moncton; half-price entry on Tuesday nights, and Glow Zone on Fridays & Saturdays.
MR21 is ‘low key Moncton’s best kept secret’ as my kids say. An incredible visual presentation that tells the history of the Acadian community in a beautiful cathedral in downtown. Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages – and also another rainy day must visit option.
The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.
For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones – please note pools are closed June 14-20 for maintenance), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centre in Riverview (closed for public swimming for the summer but outdoor pools are staffed), and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!). (The Dieppe pool will be closed June 22 to September 18, 2026.)

The Bunker on Main Street in Moncton is a great indoor golf option & does have times kids are allowed. They also now have a race car simulator at the Pit Stop! There are more than 50 cars you can choose from & more than 30 tracks to try – it’s not a little kid game, but it’s great for an outing with the teens.
Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!
The indoor walking track at YMCA Moncton North is open to the public daily, free of charge.
The indoor walking track at the Crossman Centre is open to youth 12+ daily 3-5pm (and sometimes later) & for parents with strollers 10:30am-12:30pm daily.
Bowling is always a fun idea! For the summer, head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.) (Fairlanes in Moncton is closed for the summer for maintenance, and Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview is also closed for the summer.)

Creative mood? Try DIY Studio to paint your own pottery or the new Art Time Cafe for drawing & more!
Want to move as a family but need to be indoors? Try a visit to FitRocks Climbing Gym!

Teens & youth (ages 12-25) can book a two-hour spot at Riverview’s Sound Lab for just $2/person. The lab has professional recording software, an electric guitar, bass guitar, electric drum kit, keyboard, microphones, & two amps.
Gamer in the family? The Comic Hunter hosts Friday Night Magic Modern sessions, Sunday Lorcana Locals, Monday Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Play & lots of other gaming events.
Board Miniatures also hosts regular table top sessions for various games & free board game days, too!
BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect, with lots of programming open to everyone.
Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquarium with striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit, especially when you need an indoor option.
CAFES, RESTAURANTS, & FUN PLACES TO EAT WITH KIDS IN GREATER MONCTON
There are more & more awesome places to take a break and enjoy a meal locally! Here are a few top picks you might want to try:
- Book a booth at GG Bistro for some gaming fun & great eats! You might think a place with consoles at the table would be basic pub food, but you’d be wrong. The food will blow you away!
- Tambayan Cafe is a fun 2D cafe in Riverview with yummy treats, coffee, fries, & more.
- Add a photo booth shoot to your sweets order at Click & Chew in Dieppe; super fun idea for a special celebration or any day.
- We’re always down to pretend we’ve hopped a plane to France with a trip to Tony’s for pastries. They have three great spots to explore – the original bistro on McLaughlin, Dieppe, and in Downtown Moncton!
