Haunted houses, trunk or treats, & other spooky events to celebrate Halloween in Greater Moncton (2024)
Are you ready for a spooktacular October? Pickle Planet’s 2024 Guide to Halloween is your one-stop spot for everything Halloween-related in the Greater Moncton Area – costume inspiration, craft & décor ideas, haunted houses, ghost stories, and more! (We’ll add to this as we learn of more events, so keep coming back – and share with your friends, too!) If you’re here for a list of decorated houses to admire, scroll down past the daily events & you’ll find some great spots to check out.
HALLOWEEN HOURS
There aren’t hard & fast rules around when you can head out. Moncton, Riverview, & Dieppe encourage trick-or-treating between no later than 8pm and no earlier than 4pm on October 31. Generally we’ve found people locally consider 5pm to 7:30pm the ideal time to knock on someone’s door; watch for outside lights and/or decorations to indicate that houses are welcoming trick-or-treaters. Remember to be safe on the streets & polite on others’ property!
Looking for a map of decorated houses to visit? We have photos & streets below – and a little video on our TikTok!

HAUNTED HOUSES TO VISIT AROUND MONCTON
Have an awesomely decorated house to add? Drop your info in the comments! We’ll update as we find more spots, too!
A must-visit is 19 Waterfall Drive in Riverview (below; photo from previous year); Keeping Up With The Bones bring their skeleton friends out to play each year. Stop by to admire the constantly changing display!
Also on Waterfall you’ll find this spooky yard!
There’s also an awesome display on Killarney Road in Riverview every year (with many others on the street also going all out!), and we always check out the mannequin family on Coverdale (across from the Riverfront playground).
In Moncton, we always check out the corner of Alexander Avenue & Milner Road to see what their AT-AT is up to – but it was their dancing skeletons that had our hearts this year! Check out the light show on the front lawn (and make plans to come back here when this turns into a Christmas tree & display!)
Salisbury Road has several homes with great displays, too, & we’ve seen some great photos from the Old West End. Check out this amazing home on Broadview Avenue!
Did you visit the fabulous haunted house on the corner of Pellerin & Rockcliffe yet?! They have an incredible display & on some nights [Oct 19 (7:30-9pm), Oct 26 (7:30-9pm) or Oct 31 (5-8:30)] live actors to scare you!
The folks at 59 Falcon Drive in Moncton’s North End have been going all out the past few years & we love it. The photo below is only a snippet of what they had on display in previous years. We highly suggest exploring the neighbouring streets, too – we saw some great displays between Falcon & Deerfield last year!
We heard about a fantastic display in Dieppe – and wow! We’re so impressed! Thanks to the Williams family for sharing these photos from their home at 23 François Court in 2024.
Take a drive to check out the Hillsborough Halloween House. They’re also adding to their display throughout the month but it already looks incredible! Lights are on at 26 Greys Island Road, approximately 7-9pm nightly, weather permitting.
LaFiouk Restaurant in Kouchibouguac has an inflatable collection that is something else; a great photo op & little kiddo friendly! They expect to be ready by October 12, 2024.
LOCAL GHOST STORIES
Albert County is filled with fabulous tales of ghostly figures. You can hear Albert County Museum’s Janet Clouston talk about sightings of Tom Collins, his apparent murder victim, a court judge, and more at the museum on our #NBHistory Podcast/TV Show.
We’ve also heard some fantastic ghost stories about Gray’s Island Graveyardin Hillsborough, the Capitol Theatreis another well-known location with a sense of something otherworldly, and the legend of Rebecca’s Grave is pretty much the best-known Moncton folktale.
You can find a few other New Brunswick must-know ghost stories & haunted places in this article from Huddle & please drop your favourite ones below! We’d love to hear more about the every day encounters with spirits in this area!
