#HistoryNB: Acadians in Albert County

Albert County might not come to mind as an Acadian stronghold in New Brunswick, but families throughout the Moncton & Memramcook areas trace their roots to communities at the base of Shepody Mountain and what is now Hillsborough. Settled in 1698 & 1699, more than 160 families were living in the area by 1750. Their stories are proudly shared at the Albert County Museum and are the focus of this episode of #HistoryNB.

Pickle Planet Moncton & The Podcast Hub, along with Rogers TV New Brunswick, have teamed up with the Albert County Historical Society to create a summer podcast series exploring some of the Albert County Museum’s many displays. This is the fourth of five episodes. For more on the Acadian pioneers in Albert County, visit the museum & their website: www.albertcountymuseum.com/the-acadians
