
What to do with the kids this weekend in Greater Moncton (June 20-22, 2025)
School’s out, everyone! Welcome to summer! Be sure to check out our FREE summer events post at the end of this round up, but let’s start with this weekend’s events, shall we?!
Ribfest is underway! A fantastic way to skip cooking and support the community work of local Rotary Clubs!
The Sandbar (in Shediac) is opening an ice cream shop starting today at noon!
SkyZone is hosting a Summer Kick-Off with DJ Dionne, prizes, games, costumed characters, & more starting at 2pm.
Both local drive in theatres – Shediac’s Neptune Drive In & Sussex Drive In – have How to Train Your Dragon as their starting movie this weekend.
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. There’s a free celebration at 12:30pm at Bore Park in Moncton, with singing, storytelling, and dancing. There’s also a celebration at Fort Folly Bingo Hall, 11am-1pm, with educational ceremonies, guided walks, and more.
Shediac will mark the day at Pascal-Poirier Park, with an opening prayer, smudging, talk and music at 11am, followed by summer kick off fun with a foam pit, bike rodeo and more until 3pm.
It’s opening day for the City of Moncton’s two outdoor pools: the East End pool at 35 Fergus Street and the Centennial Park pool at 811 St George Blvd. Both are open for public swimming Monday to Sunday, 11am-7pm. Check the city’s website for more information & prices.
Salisbury is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament today, with various age groupings & great prizes! You can check out the action after a hearty breakfast at the Salisbury Lions Club, with pancakes, donuts, muffins, drinks, & more! Admission is $10/adult, $5 for those ages six to 10, and free for preschoolers.
From noon till 3pm there’ll be a free summer bash at the Alma Rec Centre, with crafts, animals, water games, and a BBQ.
Rotary Ribfest continues at Riverfront Park today.
BGC Dieppe is hosting a summer kick off party, with a BBQ, face painting, bouncy castles, and more. 11am-2pm, free!
Beloved Miniature Horses is hosting an open farm day, 11am-3pm, where you can meet the animals, enjoy pony rides, and more! Entry is $10/person (under age three is free), with pony rides an additional $10 (only available to those under 65 pounds).
Boyle Family Farm is opening to the public again this weekend, 10am-4pm, with cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chicks, bunnies, crafts, & more. General admission is $15 (seniors 65+ $10 and children two and under free), with animal feed for $5.
The Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Society of New Brunswick is hosting the second half of their Asian Heritage Gala today, 1-3pm, at the Riverview Arts Centre.
Shediac Speedway’s Monster Mania ’25 is happening today & tomorrow, with Monster trucks, demos, and more!
Highfield Baptist Church is hosting an ice cream party to celebrate the end of school, from 2-4pm. Everyone is welcome and there’s no charge. Build your own sundae, enjoy games, and more.
Today is Go Skatebarding Day! YMCA Moncton North is celebrating with drop in fun and an outdoor BBQ 4-6pm. Everyone welcome!
The Moncton Mustangs are hosting the Saint John Wanderers for Saturday afternoon football at Rocky Stone. Entry is $10, gates open at 4pm.
The Sunshine Rollers are back at the Moncton Coliseum for roller skating fun! Family skating 4-6pm or 6-8pm.
Up for a road trip? The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum is hosting its annual Family Fun Day today, with BBQ, games, & more. 10am-3pm.
Elders Betty Ward of Metepenagiag and Joan Milliea of Elsipogtog will be at Fundy National Park, Alma Beach, at 1pm for a ceremony to honour the safe return of salmon – apeti petaling plamood. Experience a bonfire and art on the beach, free with your park entry.
Dieppe’s Sky-Lines Kite Club will be at Dover Park, 1-3pm, and welcomes the public to watch.

- 🏊♀️ The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.
- 🏊♀️ For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centre in Riverview, and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!).
- Outdoor pools in Moncton are the East End pool at 35 Fergus Street and the Centennial Park pool at 811 St George Blvd. In Riverview, there’s the Lion Ken Gabbey Pool on Killarney Road (opening for the season June 23).
- If you’re up for spending money on the ultimate local splash experience, head to Magic Mountain. Even little ones can enjoy several features at the water park, including four slides at the Puddle Jumpers Pond, and a splash pad pirate ship, lighthouse, and whale.
Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.

Hazy Grape Theatre Collective presents Broadway favourites at the Captiol Theatre June 26-28.
Riverview’s annual kick off to summer, SunFest, happens June 27 to July 1, with lots of great events for everyone. Be sure to mark Saturday’s BGC Family Fun Carnival day, noon-4pm, on your calendar to enjoy bouncy castles, petting zoo, and more!
Friday, June 27 BGC SparkFest celebrates Canadian Multiculturalism Day at Riverfront Park & there’s a fun new Downtown Art Walk happening that day!
June 28 there’s a MOSAÏQ Multicultural Day BBQ with entertainment by POPs NB by Sistema, and astrawberry social at the Marché Moncton Market with Acoustica live music. It’s also the return of the Cap Acadie market.
And remember July 1 is filled with fun community events, including Whoa Canada with KidsZone, free concert with Matt Mays and Beauxmont, and fireworks!
(Speaking of July, the next Kids DIY Workshop at Home Depot is July 12 & there were still spaces left on Thursday night when we wrote this!)
Tidal Bore presentations are back for July & August; a great way to learn about this awesome phenomenon in our backyard!
