Friday, May 31

High school teams will take to Jones Lake today for the Greater Moncton Dragon Boat Festival!

📽️ This weekend at Shediac’s Neptune Drive In the features are Mad Max: Furiosa (rated R) & Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (PG-13). The same movies are also playing in Sussex.
🐝 Resurgo Place’s temporary exhibit is now open – and it’s all about bees! It’s a super fun display with lots of interactive elements for the kiddos.

Make plans to join a community movie night at BGC Dieppe on Friday, May 31 to watch Yes Day.

Northrup Frye is holding their annual Family Fun Night, with bouncy castles, games, Travel to You Zoo, & more. Children are $10 admission & there’s a canteen fundraiser; cash only

If your family loves a little fantasy on the floorboards, check out the production of Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters by Marshlight Theatre. Opening night tonight at 7pm; there’s a matinee on Saturday (& next Saturday, too), as well as evening shows Saturday & Sunday.

Planning a wedding? Check out the 4th annual Eat, Drink, & Be Married event, happening tonight at Riverview’s Coverdale Centre. We were there last year to cover the event & were blown away by the growth in the industry since Mama & Papa Pickle tied the knot!

Jones Lake will be busy with corporate & community boats taking part in the Greater Moncton Dragon Boat Festival!

Dieppe Pride Festival is holding a flag raising at Dieppe City Hall at 10am. They’ve got lots of events happening next weekend, too!

June is Parks & Recreation Month – and to kick things off you can try Lawn Bowling at the Centennial Lawn Bowling Club from noon till 3pm today!

The City of Moncton’s summer music series, Acoustica, is kicking off. Expect weekly entertainment at the Monton Market on Saturdays at 11am; this week, it’s Amber Walls.

Irishview is hosting their first Blossom Festival – and it’s FREE! The apple trees should be in full bloom, there will be nearly two dozen vendors, ponies from Beloved Miniature Horses, food truck eats, bouncy castles for the kids, & our podcasting BFF Tosh will be there, too!

Evergreen Park School is hosting a Family Fun Fair, 1-3pm, with bouncy castles, petting zoo, games, & more. Entry is $10/child or $20/family, with more fundraising options to purchase. Cash only!

New Brunswick Parks & Trails Day will be celebrated with a bike rodeo, BBQ, pump track & trail rides with the Elgin Eco Association at the Elgin Eco Park, 10am-noon.

June is a great month to get moving – and YMCA Moncton North is holding a fundraising walk that can help you stay health and help youth access programming. Sign up for the 9am 5K walk/run for $25 and help those ages 12-17 enjoy free classes & activities.

Shediac’s Bark at the Park is an event for the four-legged members of the family – with dog-related vendors, workshops, demonstrations, and lots of opportunity for connecting with other pooch families! On from 9am-noon.

Nature Moncton & the Fundy Biosphere folks will be planting trees along the Riverfront from 10am until about 2pm. Stop by to help out & connect!

Our friends at Alison Dawn Voice & Music are presenting Disney’s The Lion King Junior today at Harrison Trimble High School. Sure to be a great show for those with a love for kids & musical theatre!

You might also want to know that Petitcodiac Regional School is presenting The Little Mermaid this weekend. Their first run of shows sold out, so more were added – but after their CTV appearance, we’re sure they’re getting scooped up! Check the Drama Club’s Facebook page for details; they do have a matinee & evening show planned for today.

Saturday is table top day at The Comic Book Hunter. Check out their page for details; $5 to play, with prizes to be won.

Memramcook’s annual Community Day is Saturday, with kids’ activities like Travel to You Zoo & bouncy castles from 9am-noon, food trucks, museum tours, & more!

Grandparents – this one is just for you! Sign up for a free multigenerational painting session with Mélanie Gagnon at Centre multifonctionnel in Shediac. Bring your grandchildren (ages 6+) and create together! 1-3:45pm.

Sunday, June 2

🦖 The Albert County Museum is open for the season, with a special guest – Albert, the Albertosaurus available to visit with starting June 15! (Open Saturdays & Sundays until June 15, then daily. You can buy a family season pass for $30; an amazing value for what this fantastic museum has to offer!)

🛹🚲 The YMCA Moncton North has a new outdoor park for skateboarding, roller skating, & biking.

🛼 Dieppe is welcoming people to skate the Oval at Place 1604 with in-line skates for the summer!

🐯 The Magnetic Hill Zoo is now open seven days a week, 10am-4pm!

🏎️ East Coast Karting plans to be open Saturdays & Sundays until their full season begins.

🤘 BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect – check out their May schedule.

🎾 Tennis Dieppe has their nets up and they’re inviting you to play for free until their season opens in mid-May.

⛳ The driving range at The Boardwalk is open 10am-8pm daily, weather permitting. Victoria Day weekend saw most attractions open, including their new go karts!

🚵 Poley Mountain has mountain bike trails, including beginner routes for ages 6+ – and they’re planning some summer events geared to the littles with bouncy castles, balance bikes on the lawn, & kid-friendly options on the Slope Side Bar & Grill. DYK: They have an RV park, too?

🎳 Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.)

🎨 Creative mood? Try DIY Studio to paint your own pottery!

🔐 Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up. There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time, like … Motive for Murder audio game — A great ‘any time of day’ option for the true crime fans who are up for a little hometown sleuthing. Download a whodunnit set in Moncton!

🎲 If board games are your family thing, check out the new shop on Moncton’s Main Street, Board Miniatures! The have a standing paint and play tabletop session on Sundays.

👶 The Early Childhood Family Resource Centre has lots of drop-in & scheduled events throughout the month, both at its Dieppe location and its satellite locations. Check out their online calendars for details; a great option for littles throughout the week!

🐟 Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquarium with striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit. And of course, the Easter Bunny is on site now, too!

🦙 Llamazing Adventures is a great way to get out & get moving! Take the llamas for a walk!

📚 Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages.

🏫 Resurgo Place is another spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too!

👟 The walking/running track at Université de Moncton’s Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium is open for public use Mondays-Fridays, 8:30am-4:30pm (unless there’s a competition or event). You can access two hours of free parking & the use of the track is free.

💃 Are you following Moncton Cares on social? This group is creating wonderful opportunities for both newcomers and the community at large. Check out their DROP IN, family-friendly week day programming at NBCC & Birchmount School! Its just $10 for 10 sports sessions (you can drop in as you’re able) & $10 for five dance sessions (again, come when you can & learn various traditional dances).


Block Parties are back!! The City of Moncton & YMCA Greater Moncton are visiting different playgrounds every Tuesday – and one Thursday a month! – from now until the end of summer. Head to Brian Hicks Park (120 Evergreen Dr.) from 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 4 to enjoy the playground with Travel to You Zoo, bouncy castles, Remi the magician, and so much fun!


The City of Moncton has also scheduled family fun nights in Centennial Park on Wednesdays at 6pm. June 5 it’s Kim Conway Music for Littles. (You can find all the scheduled activities and hundreds more in our Guide to FREE Summer Family Fun in Greater Moncton 2024!)

And on June 6, the students of Riverview High School are turning Caseley Park into a carnival! Bouncy castles, BBQ, dunk tank, & more. This is a fundraiser, so bring your cash to help a great cause – Harvest House Atlantic.

The QMJHL Draft is coming to town! There will be free outdoor activities at Avenir Centre starting at 4pm on Friday, June 7 and Saturday morning 8:30-10:30am. The draft is free entry to watch, too!

And if soccer is your game, did you see that Ipswich Town Football Club & Middlesbrough FC are playing at Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on July 21?! It’s a double feature, with the HFX Wanderers FC taking on the NB Selects.

Next weekend is also East Coast Comic Expo at the Coliseum!

And next Saturday, check out the Kite Festival being organized for Riverfront Park, with bouncy castles, food vendors, music, & giant kites, of course!

The author of The Da Vinci Code is coming to Moncton for a Sistema New Brunswick Children’s Orchestra performance fundraiser on June 11 at the Wesleyan Centre.

Keep June 15 circled, too – for the annual Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival! Petting zoo, horse & wagon rides, bouncy castles, vendors, highland dancers, pipebands, music, and the national youth championship heavy athletics!!!
