What’s happening for Canada Day 2026 in Greater Moncton

Happy Canada Day, everyone! The national holiday falls on a Wednesday this week, which makes for a fun mid-week break in routine. A reminder that many every day businesses will closed (banks, grocery stores, government offices, etc) but many small & seasonal operations may still be open. Be sure to check before heading out — and if you’re in the mood for a community celebration, keep reading! We have links & highlights for events from Salisbury to Shediac!

Riverview‘s SUNFEST fun wraps up with their Canada Day celebrations, which includes a free open swim at the Ken Gabbey Pool from 1:15-6:30pm and lots of fun at Caseley Park from 1-5pm — including seven bouncy castles, BBQ, live music, face painting, caricatures, vendors, soccer, and of course cake & O Canada to start it all off!

Dieppe‘s Canada Day celebration begins at 10am at Place 1604 with the fabulous Art Richard, bouncy castles, and games. The fun continues throughout the day, with more live music, family soccer games from 4-7pm, and a viewing of the World Cup at 5pm.

Whoa! Canada Day takes places in downtown Moncton, at Riverfront Park. The Kids’ PlayZone opens at noon and goes until 8pm, with buskers, inflatables, and more. There’ll be family-friendly entertainment on the Riverfront Park Stage from noon until 4:30pm, including a  dance workshop & magician! There’ll be food trucks, craft vendors, and on the Main Stage music from 5-10pm, with Run the River, Chris Belliveau Band, Les Hay Babies, Half Moon Run, and Lisa LeBlanc.

The tri-community Canada Day ✨fireworks✨ are scheduled for 10-10:15pm.

Maple Hills starts the celebration with a full pancake breakfast, 8-10am, by donation at the community centre. From 11am-2pm there’s live music, bouncy castles, yard games, face painting, and more.

Highland Park in Salisbury will host a BBQ, live music with Pat Gillespie Band, face painting, games, & more from 11am-1pm.

Memramcook’s celebration will be at the Monument-Lefebvre from 11am-2pm, with live music, inflatables, Boyle Family Farm petting zoo, soccer crafts, food & more.

Sackville kicks things off at Bill Johnstone Memorial Park with a 1K Fun Run for kids and a 5K at 11am, opening ceremonies at noon, lawn games, Shinerama BBQ, family scavenger hunt, and more until 2pm.

There’s a celebration with cake, music, inflatables, and more at the Dorchester Veterans Community Centre from 4-6pm.

In Petitcodiac, the community block party is from 4-8pm with live performances, BBQ, games & more!

In Alma, there’s a whole bunch of fun planned for the rink! Starting at 10am there’s an artist market, a bike parade on Main Street at 11:30am, face painting in the morning, family fun in the afternoon, a BBQ & cake, an outdoor concert with Shane Douthwright (7-9pm), and ✨fireworks✨ at dusk from the Alma Wharf.

The Steeves House Museum in Hillsborough is hosting a strawberry shortcake social for Canada Day, 10am-2pm. Cost is $8/person. There’s live music at the legion/ball field starting at 2pm, BBQ & cake, bouncy castles & glitter tattoos (6:30-9:30pm), & ✨fireworks✨ at 10pm from the Main Street Ball Field.

Port Elgin will hold a celebration starting with a parade at 11am, walking to Centennial Park for BBQ, cake, an Oh! Canada singing contest, bouncy castles, petting zoo, and more until 3pm.

Cap-Acadie is hosting Canada Day activities at Tidiche Park with Razzmatazz (fantastic bilingual kids’ entertainers) from 2:30-3:30pm & live music with Jérémie and Mathieu from 4-6pm.

Shediac has celebrations in three locations: from 11am-2pm, head to Pointe-du-Chêne Recreation & Community Center for families activities & BBQ – and magic with the awesome Rémi Boudreau from noon-1pm. From 1-4pm, Pascal-Poirier Park will have entertainment, including a 2pm performance by Mr. Crapaud. And from 4-10pm, Rotary Park (by the big lobster) will feature family fun activities, BBQ, Terry Melanson performing from 6:30-8pm, the Mainlanders from 8:10-9:55pm, followed by ✨fireworks✨ at 10pm!
