Sally Melanson says she’s fielding more and more calls from families seeking remembrance photography.
We often think of hiring a photographer for joyous family portraits — everyone together, smiling and having fun.
But there is a growing movement of people who are hiring professional photographers to document life’s heavier moments – cancer diagnoses, still born births, end of life gatherings.
Sally Melanson of Two Little Twigs Photography is one of the only New Brunswick photographers who volunteers for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, an international photography service that offers parents who are grieving a stillborn or infant death free portraits of their children. She’s also photographed local families before and after cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as those facing death.
Listen to her conversation about remembrance photography with Jenna & Tosh on this episode of the Pickle Planet Podcast.
