WHAT’S HAPPENING FOR MARCH BREAK IN GREATER FREDERICTON
SATURDAY, MARCH 2

🍔 YFC Burger Battle starts today. More than two dozen participating restaurants — you can eat your way through them all or just plan for a special meal out!
📚 Public libraries are ALWAYS tops on our list for family outings – but it’s even better when there’s a special event! This Saturday, check out the opening of the Junior Art Gallery Exhibit: Forests at 2pm at the Fredericton library. In Oromocto, it’s a camp stories at 11am.
🍿 Head to the movies! This weekend’s Family Favourites feature is Barbie, showing at 11am, with prices as low as $4/ticket. Most of the regular titles showing this weekend & throughout the week are rated G or PG, including Migration & Wonka. Weekday showtimes include matinee showings, too!

🏎️ Today is the last day to sign up for the Riverview Ford Lincoln Super Mario Kart Tournament! Only 12 kids in each age group (9-11, 12-13, & 14-15) will be chosen; they’ll get to play before the Red Wings game on March 10. The winner in each age group takes home $100!

Beaverbrook Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, with a late opening on Thursday night from 5-9pm when admission is by donation. (Children under 6 are always free, while those up to age 16 are $6 & adults are $14. Family & senior rates available.)

King’s Landing is open 10am-3pm for its annual Maple event! Enjoy a 19th century style sugaring demonstration, maple on the snow ($2.50/stick, cash only), wagon rides, and more. Four of the historic buildings will be open, and you can opt to also purchase a pancake breakfast from the Luxor Shriners of New Brunswick. The breakfast is available 10am-2pm. You can purchase your Kings Landing entrance in advance or at the gate. Children under 5 are free; youth, senior, & family rates are available.

Today is the official launch of the French edition of one of our favourite New Brunswick books for young readers, set right here in Fredericton. The Frame Up is a fantastic tale set at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, where publisher Bouton d’or Acadie is hosting an event with author Wendy McLeod MacKnight & translator Marie-Claude Hebert today at 2pm. This will be a French event, with some hands-on activities.

Good Guys Golf’s indoor mini-putt is a great way to burn off some energy indoors. Opens at noon, Tuesdays through Sundays. Just $5 for those under 13 to play 9 holes & $7 for older, with $4 for a replay!
Kingswood Entertainment Centre is always a hit with the kids, featuring its massive inflatable obstacle course, climbing walls, laser tag, arcade games, bowling, & more!
The Clay Cafe is open Tuesdays through Sundays – and knowing its often busy, you might want to try one of their take-home kits! You get the supplies, create at home, and return for firing.
The Purrfect Cup is a great spot to visit with the cat lover in your life. Open seven days a week!
The Comic Book Hunter has events most evenings in March & their upstairs space is open for board game play, RPGs, trading card games, etc. A great option for older kids & the teen/tween crowd!
Beaverbrook Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday. PRO TIP: Plan a family reading of Wendy McLeod MacKnight’s fabulous book, The Frame Up, before your visit! We’ve found it on the shelves at Chapters & see there’s an e-book & audio version you can snag right away, too – or stop by on March 10 to get the brand new French translation!
The Hanson Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden is open Tuesdays – Sundays, 1-4pm.
You can book a tour of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame Monday through Saturday. Lots of great hands-on activities & displays!
Unpluggedis open Wednesday through Sunday for all kinds of board game & escape room fun!
Mactaquac Provincial Park‘s admin office is open daily; you can call 506-363-4747 to check on conditions or ask about winter camping options. Weather permitting, you can enjoy two groomed sliding hills, snowshoe trails, cross-country ski trails, fat biking, & more. (Some equipment rental available, too!)
