Blueberry U-Picks near Moncton
August is blueberry season in New Brunswick* and there are lots of great u-pick spots in and around the Greater Moncton Area. (This post was updated late July 2021; click through the links to get the latest information from the source!)
What are your favourite ways to enjoy blueberries? Do you pick your own each summer? I grew up foraging for wild blueberries near our summer property and have wonderful memories of heading out early in the morning to fill a cup so my aunt would make blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Please share your blueberry memories and must-eats below, I’d love to read about them!
I was gifted a few bushes as a milestone birthday gift & I’m hoping to pass on this summer tradition to my kids. Until the bushes grow, though, we’ll need some u-pick options, and we thought you might want a handy list of them, too!
Blue Valley Berries offers a u-pick option within Moncton! Head to the Gorge Road (near Mapleton Park) to enjoy these lovely berries. Check their Facebook Page for open times; they opened for the 2021 season on July 24th.
Les Petits Fruits de Pré-d’en-Haut in Memramcook offers several u-pick options, including high bush blueberries. You can call 758-0987 or check their Facebook page for updates.
Trueman Blueberry Farm outside Sackville (which also has amazing homemade ice cream, a sunflower maze, and much more) offers both wild and high-bush blueberries and raspberries for picking; check for availability. The farm is open seven days a week. Watch for updates on their Facebook Page.
Ramsay’s High Bush Blueberries opened for the 2021 season on July 24. They’re located between Havelock and Petitcodiac. Call 750-1234 for updates and questions, or check their Facebook page. (Check out the awesome big red chair they have for fun family photos!)
The Elgin Blueberry U-Pick did not open for the 2020 season.
Now you can take the family on a picking adventure and fill the house with blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, blueberry pies, or just enjoy handfuls of delicious sweetness as a snack!
* Technically you can usually pick blueberries from late July until early September, not just in August, but it’s always a safe bet there will be berries this month. Also, please check if the u-pick you plan to visit accepts cash only or if other payment options are available before heading out.
Also, please note that this is not a paid directory. Information here was collected from various websites and social media, not directly from the business – but we’d love if you let them know you visited because of Pickle Planet! Any omissions, etc are not intentional, and please always double-check the rates, times, etc using the source links provided to ensure you have the most recent information before heading out. Happy blueberry picking!
