
What to do with the kids this weekend in Greater Moncton (June 6-8, 2025)
Hi everyone!
A quick note to let you know that this weekend & next, the round ups will look a little different. I’m the event manager for the Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival, which runs June 10-14, so my time is limited right now. I’ll pop in with a few of the big events, and share the usual links to everyday ideas, but I wouldn’t be able to spend hours sifting through social media & websites to capture all the info I usually do for you.
FRIDAY JUNE 6
There’s a roller disco night coming to Petitcodiac on June 6. (You need to bring your own roller skates.)
As part of Environment Week, Codiac Transpo rides are free today & tomorrow!
SATURDAY JUNE 7
Today & tomorrow are annual Fish NB Days, meaning you don’t need an active fishing license to head to the water. (Please note that all catch limits, closures and other restrictions remain in place.)
- The Moncton Market is open 8am-2pm on Saturdays.
- The Dieppe Market is open 8am-1pm on Saturdays.
- The Salisbury Farmers & Artisans Market is open Saturdays, 8am-1:30pm. Pair it with a trip to the Antiques Mall next door, then up the road to the Green Pig, open daily 9am-7pm!
- Bouctouche Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays, 8am-1pm.
- Shediac’s art market, Maritime Crafts & More, is open Wednesdays to Sundays, 10am-5pm.
EnviroFest at happening June 7 at Centennial Park, 11am-4pm. There’s also the Eco 360 Reuse Expo at the Coliseum June 7 & 8.
There’s a Summer Market in downtown Moncton on June 7, coordinated by Kept On Main with in-store extras and activities and vendors in Oak Lane. Expect an ice cream truck, games, lemonade stand, & more, 10am-3pm.
June 7 is the annual Corvette Show at Lounsbury Chevrolet Moncton, 10am-2pm.
There’s a car seat clinic today in Riverview, 9am-1pm; reach out in advance to make an appointment.
The Salvation Army in Moncton is hosting a strawberry shortcake & lemonade social, 2-4pm. Entry by donation.
The annual FunZOOla fundraiser is re-scheduled for next Saturday due to this weekend’s forecast.
SUNDAY JUNE 8
Chapters has a Father’s Day LEGO event happening June 8; you must register in advance to grab a spot! There are openings at 11am & 1pm. For ages 6+.
There’s a fundraiser for the Hillsborough Community Playground happening at the Kiwanis Community Centre, with inflatables, balloon animals, petting zoo, touch-a-truck, bake sale, & more! Taking place 1-4pm.

- 🏊♀️ The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.
- 🏊♀️ For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centrein Riverview, and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!).
Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.
- ⚡Burn off energy at SkyZone Moncton; half-price entry on Tuesday nights, and Glow Zone on Fridays & Saturdays.
Resurgo Place is a spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too! (Closed on Mondays, including long weekends.)
Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages – and also another rainy day must visit option.
BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect, with lots of programming open to everyone.
- 🤸 Our friends at 506 Elite Allstars have a great space for kiddos looking to bounce around and burn off energy while learning tumbling and cheer moves. Check out their new member trial package & their upcoming events.
- 💚🎳 Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.)

Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!

Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up. There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time.

- 💚💥 Gamer in the family? The Comic Hunter hosts Friday Night Magic Modern sessions, Sunday Lorcana Locals, Monday Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Play & lots of other gaming events.
Board Miniatures also hosts regular table top sessions for various games & free board game days, too!

Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquariumwith striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit, especially when you need an indoor option.

Llamazing Adventures is a great way to get out & get moving! Take the llamas for a walk!

Be sure to check out all the amazing public art installations around the downtown core, too!

Remember there’s a new location each Tuesday for the YMCA Block Parties! Coming up on June 10 it’s at Pauline Frizzell, one of our family’s favourite places to play!
The Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival returns June 10-14, with ALL events FREE this year! The main event on Saturday, June 14 has bouncy castles, petting zoo, swordfighting, blacksmithing, horse & wagon rides, and live music alongside the pipebands, Highland dancers, and the Canadian national championships for female heavy athletes! This is a fantastic FREE event for the whole family; be sure to put it on your calendar now!
On Friday, June 13 the Early Childhood Family Resource Centre is hosting a big celebration with partners from Talk with Me/Parle-Moi, Early Years Navigators, & more. They’ll have an inflatable, Travel to You Zoo, face painting (for a fee), & more. 10:30am-1:30pm.
