The Upper Bay of Fundy Project is working on a sustainable development plan for rural communities in Southeastern New Brunswick
The Upper Bay of Fundy stretches from Hillsborough down to Alma, through to Sussex and St. Martins, encompassing all the smaller communities in the area. It includes three provincial parks, one national park, two UNESCO designated sites, and various business, municipalities, natural attractions, cultural institutions, and a unique place in New Brunswick’s economy. For the first time, a community-led project is attempting to create a sustainable strategy for the region, starting with a review of various research conducted over the years and a series of meetings meant to engage the community. We get an overview of the two-year project, in its initial phase, with Micha Fardy, Executive Director of Friends of Fundy and co-lead of the Upper Bay working group.
