Kids Paint Workshop at Riverview Superstore
Paint workshops are all the rage – and I totally understand why! Trying to envision how to create a painting anyone would actually want to hang on their wall is WAY beyond my skill set, but following someone’s instructions makes it seem amazingly simple. The best part – this doesn’t have to just be an adult endeavour! The folks from That Art Thing! and Riverview Superstore invited us to take part in their first kids’ paint afternoon. It was a HUGE success; incredibly well organized, on time, informative, entertaining, and our little Ms Pickle enjoyed every moment – and came home with a great piece of art to hang on her wall!

The paint workshop was offered to us free of charge to share with you; the opinions are all our own. If you’re interested in taking part in one of these workshops, you can contact the store for details. The cost is $25 plus tax per child; there is a limit of 20 participants. You must register in advance; you can stop by the Customer Service desk or phone the store (387-5992).

Here’s a look at our paint adventure to show you how we went from a blank canvas to a sweet, napping bear in a tree.

Big thanks to Theresa for inviting us to take part in this event. Riverview Superstore also holds weekly cooking classes for children; there are weekday classes for little hands, and evening events for school age children, including a monthly teen dinner night. The store also hosts kids birthday parties that are always a huge hit! Find all the details on the Superstore website.
HUGE kudos to Neil & Beth from That Art Thing! for making this all look so easy! These lovely folks are available for bookings, too, and hold great fundraisers for local groups.
What do you think – does it look fun? We can’t wait to do it again!
