Friday Family Events (February 20, 2026)
Babies in the Library is on today at the Riverview Public Library, for newborns up to 18 months, no registration required. A great chance to get out and meet other parents & littles! 10am-noon.
Codiac Cyclones Speed Skating Club is hosting a viewing party for Courtney Sarault’s final races of the 2026 Olympics, 3-6pm, at CAVOK Brewing. (Children are allowed with adult supervision.) Courtney has won three medals — silver in the mixed 2000-metre relay, silver in the women’s 1000-meter, and bronze in the women’s 500-metre — and will skate the 1500-metre today.
Dieppe’s annual celebration, Winter Magic, kicks off today! Head to Place 1604 for Fun on Ice with a special UV party with DJ Chris and a performance by fire artists Geomatrix. There offer free skate rentals, maple taffy, hot chocolate & more! The fun happens 6:30-8pm.
The Moncton Wildcats host the Charlottetown Islanders at 7pm at the Avenir Centre tonight, the first of two games this weekend.

Saturday Family Events (February 21, 2026)
Saturday mornings & pancakes are a great pair! Enjoy a pancake breakfast at the Lions Club in Salisbury; pancakes, sausages, donuts, muffins, drinks & more for just $10/adult, $5 for ages six to 10, and free for preschoolers. Serving 7-10am.
Memramcook has a series of active mornings planned, starting today & running Saturdays until March 28 (except March 14). Drop in and enjoy simple, age-appropriate activities; no charge & no advance registration required. From 7-8am the activities are for ages three to six, ages seven to 10 are invited from 8-9am, and from 9-10am it’s for ages 11-14. Call 506-758-4078 for more information.
Riverview’s Coverdale Masonic Lodge is hosting a pancake breakfast, 8:30-11am. Cash only payments; $10/person, $5 for children under 12.
Dieppe’s Winter Magic continues today at Rotary St-Anselme Park with kids’ games (10am-5pm, next to the rink), free sleigh rides (10am-5pm), a magic show with the amazing Remi Boudreau (2-3pm, inside), live music, snowshoeing and fat bike riding, and more! From 6-8pm there’ll be skating on the rink, live music, and fireworks at 7pm!
Moncton Anime-Fest takes place at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, 10am-5pm. There will be a cosplay contest, vendors, voice actors, and more. Free to attend!
There’s a cube (as in, Rubik Cube) meetup in Riverview, 1-4pm. A great session for those wanting to get into competing, with sharing of tips and various methods and an unofficial competition.
Artful Wares is hosting a needle felting workshop, open to ages eight and over. Cost is $35; spaces are limited, so be sure to register in advance.
If you have a teen interested in upcycling, check out the workshop at the Moncton library this afternoon. There will be mending stations, supplies, and more to help you reuse, recycle, and repurose items. Registration is required; event is 2:30-4:30pm.
There’s a RepairCafe happening at Resurgo Place today – which has an awesome teen-focused exhibit right now, too!
Shrek: The Musical begins today! The show will be at the Capitol Theatre until March 1; don’t miss it!
The Moncton Wildcats are hosting the Charlottetown Islanders again at 4pm today.
The Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association’s Chinese New Year Gala is being held at Casino New Brunswick, with music, dance, culture, & more. Tickets available online.
Tri-City Tide basketball returns to its home court at Crandall University, with a home game tonight at 7pm.

Sunday Family Events (February 22, 2026)
The third annual Skate for Tate takes place at the Avenir from 9am-12pm. Skate with Wild Willie & members of the Wildcats & enjoy lots of fun for a great cause! Skate for Tate is in memory of Tate Hughes, who died at age five in 2024 after a brief illness. He loved hockey and his family and friends began this event to raise money in his memory for Open Ice for Kids, a charity that helps pay for hockey registrations & more for children in the Greater Moncton Area. There’s a silent auction open online now (www.32auctions.com/skatefortate), too!
Dieppe’s Winter Magic continues today at Rotary St-Anselme Park, kicking at 9am with the Olympic men’s hockey final on the big screen inside the Rotary Pavillion. You can also purchase brunch; $10/person, $5/children five and under. There will also be free sleigh rides, kids’ games, visits with Llama-zing Adventures llamas (1-4pm), a family relay race with the Codiac Cross-Country Ski Club at 1pm, & more!

These attractions & fun ideas are always worth checking out! Look for the for our TEEN & TWEEN picks! Some of these are still great with littles, too, but we know it can be tricky to come up with ideas the older kids will enjoy – or can be sent to on their own.

INDOOR FUN
The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.
For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centrein Riverview, and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!).
Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.
Burn off energy at SkyZone Moncton; half-price entry on Tuesday nights, and Glow Zone on Fridays & Saturdays.
Resurgo Place is a spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too! (Closed on Mondays, including long weekends.)
MR21 is ‘low key Moncton’s best kept secret’ as my kids say. An incredible visual presentation that tells the history of the Acadian community in a beautiful cathedral in downtown.
Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages – and also another rainy day must visit option.

The Bunker on Main Street in Moncton is a great indoor golf option & does have times kids are allowed. They also now have a race car simulator! There are more than 50 cars you can choose from & more than 30 tracks to try – it’s not a little kid game.
Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!
Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.)
Book a booth at GG Bistrofor some gaming fun & great eats!
Creative mood? Try DIY Studio to paint your own pottery or the new Art Time Cafe for drawing & more!
Want to move as a family but need to be indoors? Try a visit to FitRocks Climbing Gym!
Book laser tag at the Sportsdome or Marco’s!
Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up. There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time.
Need to unleash some anger? Book a session at the Wreck Room!
Teens & youth (ages 12-25) can book a two-hour spot at Riverview’s Sound Lab for just $2/person. The lab has professional recording software, an electric guitar, bass guitar, electric drum kit, keyboard, microphones, & two amps.
Gamer in the family? The Comic Hunter hosts Friday Night Magic Modern sessions, Sunday Lorcana Locals, Monday Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Play & lots of other gaming events.
Board Miniatures also hosts regular table top sessions for various games & free board game days, too!
BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect, with lots of programming open to everyone.
Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquariumwith striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit, especially when you need an indoor option.
Our friends at 506 Elite Allstars have a great space for kiddos looking to bounce around and burn off energy while learning tumbling and cheer moves. Check out their new member trial package & their upcoming events.
OUTDOOR FUN
Llamazing Adventures is a great way to get out & get moving! You can take the llamas for a walk all through the year.

There’s a borrowing program at YMCA North with skateboards, helmets, and protective gear for use on their great outdoor ramps when weather permits.
There’s a roughly one hour iTour of downtown Moncton’s historical & cultural locations you can use to help you explore – a great way to add a little movement, a little history, and a little fun to your family outings! Be sure to check out all the amazing public art installations around the downtown core, too!

Sleigh Rides
Obviously this is a very weather-dependent activity, so you may or may not make those sleigh ride dreams come true this season, but here are a few options to check out:
- The Steeves family is offering sleigh rides in Havelock. Available evenings and weekends for group bookings.
- Country Sleigh Rides (near the Irishtown Community Centre) offers private group bookings for sleigh rides, as well as some pop up spots open to the public.
- Broadleaf Ranch offers several winter activities including horseback rides and sleigh rides.
- If you’re up for a road trip, we’re in awe of the videos coming out of Sandwith’s Sleigh Rides outside of Fredericton!
