New to visiting our site? Each week we (and by we, I mean me, Jenna Morton, mom of three) curate a guide to family-friendly events and things to do, from Friday to Sunday, across Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe, and nearby communities. Pickle Planet was created in 2015 to help families build connection with each other and with the community – something I think we can all agree is incredibly important, now more than ever. If you agree, please share this with a friend, colleague, or neighbour!

WINTER CARNIVALS

Friday Family Events (February 6, 2026)

Riverview’s 51st annual Winter Carnival continues through this weekend. Today ⛸️Glow Skating ⛸️ is the big event, with TWO sessions to try to accommodate every one who wants to take part. Grab your neon, your skates, and your helmet for an out-of-this-world fun night at the rink! The ice will be painted, there’ll be ice sculptures by Joel ‘Swamp Bear’ Palmer, glowing stars, pumping tunes, and so much fun! The first session is at 6pm, with the second starting at 7:45pm. CSA approved helmets required; at the Byron Dobson Arena

The Olympics begin today – and the opening ceremonies are always impressive to watch! You can join the fun at a viewing party at the Moncton Library, starting at 2:30pm. FUN FACT: I was part of the CBC ‘home team’ coverage for the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Might have to see if my swag still fits! 😛

Fridays are for Fun on Ice in Dieppe! Head to the oval at Place 1604 (6:30-8pm) for bonfires, music, & more every Friday night this season. Tonight, it’s Top 40 hits with the awesome DJ Dionne! Skates & helmets are available to borrow on site!
