What to do with the kids this weekend in Greater Moncton (May 23-25, 2025)

I’m not quite sure how it happened so fast, but it’s the last full weekend in May! Next Sunday brings us into June – the 10th anniversary of Pickle Planet! So many people tell us this site has played a role in their family adventures & each story and comment helps fuel the passion to keep creating this resource for the community. Click & Chew opens today officially. It’s a great little spot to grab a treat (try the loukos) & book time for a mini DIY-photo shoot! Check out our visit to get a sense of how it all works; we think it’s going to be a hit for birthdays & celebrations, or just a fun afternoon with friends.

Room Escape Atlantic has a new Harry Potter theme room opening this weekend.

Trueman’s 4th annual Tulip Festival continues this weekend, with fields full of colourful flowers, a u-pick option, train rides, & more! Watch their social media for updates on which colours are peaking – and which names can score a free ice cream.

Sarah Wieler is hosting a clinic at MEC, 11am-noon, to share tips on hiking while pregnant or with a newborn/toddler. Great info heading into the summer!

The Filipino Food Festival returns to Riverview’s Caseley Park today, 10am-5pm, with food, inflatables, music, & more!

Pups are taking over Pascal-Poirier Park in Shediac, 1-4pm, with vendors & more from 1-4pm for Bark in the Park.

Dog lovers might also want to head to the Moncton Coliseum for the Moncton Kennel Club show, open to the public today 9am-3pm. Admission is cash only, $5/person, children 12 & under free.

Moncton High School is hosting a free, fun event at Centennial Park to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, 1-5pm. There’ll be games, performances, bouncy castles, & more!

It’s the home opener for the Moncton Mustangs at Rocky Stone Field today, with Mama K’s food truck on site. Entry is $10, gates open at 3pm.

The Moncton Mystics women’s basketball team are hosting the Miramichi Hericans at 2pm at Crandall. Check out their game, then come back to see the Tri-City Tide host the Tri-State Admirals at 7pm.

The Mud City Rollers are hosting the Slam Chowder Cup Tournament in Shediac at the arena, with teams from Halifax, Saint John, & Quebec competing. Spectators welcome!

We’re loving all the workshops and invitations to imagine at the Maker Hub in Riverview – including today’s workshop painting 3D printed flexible dinosaurs!

The Moncton Kennel Club is open to the public today 9am-3pm at the Coliseum. Admission is cash only, $5/person, children 12 & under free.

SAVE THE DATES! The YMCA’s Block Party program returns for another 13 fantastic FREE community gatherings this summer. The fun starts June 3 at Fairview Knoll Park & then hops all over the city. (PS: Splash pads & other City of Moncton water features will be operating as of June 21.)

Public Safety Day (May 31) is going to be awesome in Three Rivers. The Petitcodiac Arena will have ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, & more!

The folks who love Lou MacNarin school are raising money for an accessible playground. They’re hosting a fundraising dance, Lou’s Little Big Ball, on May 31 from 2-5pm. This is a fun event for Grades K to 6.

Mean Girls the musical is coming to the Avenir Centre at the end of the month.

June is Seniors’ Month, with events marking Intergenerational Day on June 1 to kick things off. BGC Moncton & Moncton Cares are co-hosting a picnic & party at Renton Park from noon till 3pm, with a dance fitness class, chocolate bar bingo, & bouncy castle fun. There’s also City-led events at the Community Hub on Joyce from 2:30-4:30pm, with a performance by the Sistema NB Brass Quintet, a bilingual magic show, face painting, crafts, games, and more.

Fierté Dieppe Pride is taking place June 1-15, with most of the family-friendly events happening June 14 & 15, including a Drag Storytime at Chapters.

MAGMA’s Community Compass Spring event is happening June 5 at Edith Cavell School. This is your go-to resource for exploring the community, connecting with youth-serving organizations, and discovering available support services. There are more than 20 community partners on site to share information & answer questions, 5-7pm. Mark your calendars for an evening filled with activities, treats, and meaningful connections. There’s a roller disco night coming to Petitcodiac on June 6. (You need to bring your own roller skates.)

EnviroFest at happening June 7 at Centennial Park, 11am-4pm.

There’s a Summer Market in downtown Moncton on June 7, coordinated by Kept On Main with in-store extras and activities and vendors in Oak Lane. Expect an ice cream truck, games, lemonade stand, & more, 10am-3pm.

June 7 is the annual Corvette Show at Lounsbury Chevrolet Moncton, 10am-2pm.

The Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival returns June 10-14, with ALL events FREE this year! The main event on Saturday, June 14 has bouncy castles, petting zoo, swordfighting, blacksmithing, horse & wagon rides, and live music alongside the pipebands, Highland dancers, and the Canadian national championships for female heavy athletes! This is a fantastic FREE event for the whole family; be sure to put it on your calendar now!
