What to do this weekend with kids in Greater Moncton (Feb 21-23, 2025)

Welcome to a quieter-than-usual weekend, everyone! There aren’t too many extra events this weekend, which is to be expected after the rush of Family Day & leading into March Break. But there are a few dandy ones to check out – so let’s get going!

OUR ANNUAL MEGA GUIDE TO MARCH BREAK IS ALMOST HERE! We’re still adding to the list as we search out more events & activities, but we know the planners in the group want to get a head start. We plan to have it live this weekend.

Dieppe’s Fun on Ice at the Place 1604 Oval takes place 6:30-8pm, with DJ Chris & Neon Night! This Friday night skating parties are almost over for the season, so this is a great chance to get out & enjoy the fun.

The Capitol Theatre’s The Addams Family musical opens tonight. This musical production is sure to be a hit; don’t wait to grab seats!

Today’s the United Way Pizza Off! Some top chefs from the local area will have specialty pizzas for sale (it’s recommended you pre0order!); pick up at NBCC Moncton from 4:30-7:30pm. Proceeds from the event go to the school’s junior chef program and the Greater Moncton Southeastern New Brunswick United Way. A great reason to skip making dinner tonight!

It’s Curling Day in Canada & a Friday Fun Night at Curl Moncton.

Winter Magic returns to Dieppe this weekend, with lots of family fun! Head to Rotary St-Anselme Park for giant outdoor games (1-7pm), a visit with the animals from Boyle Family Farm (1-5pm; bring $5 cash if you want to feed the animals), outdoor skating & sliding, bonfires to warm you up, & more! There will be food trucks on site between 3 & 6pm to fill your bellies, so you can stay and watch the fireworks at 6:30pm!

The Rendez-vous d’hiver de la Vallée de Memramcook Festival’s annual Community Morning takes place at École Abbey-Landry, 9am-noon. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides, Travel to You Zoo, inflatables, face painting, and more!

The Capitol Theatre’s The Addams Family musical has two shows today, including a matinee.

BGC Moncton is holding a Black History Month Reflection event, 5-7pm.

Today is the annual Coldest Night of the Year Walk, raising funds for programs that help people facing hunger, homelessness, and more in our community. You can donate online or find out information on how to join!

Salisbury’s recreation department is hosting a Family Day celebration from 1-4pm at Highland Park. Come enjoy sledding, maple taffy, sleigh rides, hot chocolate, beavertails, & more!

Off Grid Adventures in Anagance is celebrating the grand opening of its horse park today! Visit to enjoy pony rides, their indoor adventure park, rock climbing wall, and caving cabin. Entry is $30 for a family of 5, or $10/child.

Winter Magic continues at Rotary Park in Dieppe, with a waffle & pancake bar from 10am-1pm, giant games, skating, sliding, and horse-drawn wagon rides through the snowy trails! The rides are $5/person, free for ages four & under. This includes a hot chocolate at Cafe Inclusio, too! Available 1-4pm.

The Wildcats have a Sunday Funday afternoon game, with an International Night theme. Always a great bet for family fun!

🏊‍♀️ The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.

🏊‍♀️ For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones – Friday public swim 7-8pm, Saturday public swim 6:30-7:45, & Sunday public swim 2-3pm – thanks to the City, Friday & Sunday swims are just $3/person), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centre in Riverview (Saturday public swims, 2-3:30pm), and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!).

👧 Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.

⚡Burn off energy at SkyZone Moncton; half-price entry on Tuesday nights, and Glow Zone on Fridays & Saturdays. (They’re open 2-8pm on Monday.)

🎳 Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.)

🪨 Want to move as a family but need to be indoors? Try a visit to FitRocks Climbing Gym!

🛹 Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!

🛹 There’s a borrowing program at YMCA North with skateboards, helmets, and protective gear for use on their great outdoor ramps when weather permits.

🔐 Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up. There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time.

💥 Gamer in the family? The Comic Hunter hosts Friday Night Magic Modern sessions,  Sunday Lorcana LocalsMonday Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Play & lots of other gaming events.

🎲 Board Miniatures also hosts regular table top sessions for various games & free board game days, too!

🐟 Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquarium with striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit, especially when you need an indoor option.

🐯 The Magnetic Hill Zoo is closed until March.

🦙 Llamazing Adventures is a great way to get out & get moving! Take the llamas for a walk!

🏫  Resurgo Place is a spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too! (Closed on Mondays.)

🎧 There’s a roughly one hour iTour of downtown Moncton’s historical & cultural locations you can use to help you explore – a great way to add a little movement, a little history, and a little fun to your family outings! Be sure to check out all the amazing public art installations around the downtown core, too!

📚 Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages – and also another rainy day must visit option.

🤘 BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect, with lots of programming open to everyone.

Wondering what to do with littles during the week? The Early Childhood Family Resource Centre de Ressources à la Petite Enfance hosts several fabulous drop in programs & playgroups – including Musical Mondays in Sackville and Wednesdays in Riverview & Cap-Acadie.
