Remembrance Day Weekend in Moncton (with kids) (2017)
Welcome to the weekend, everyone – and sorry for the delay in getting this weekend’s round up posted! The general rule is this appears online Wednesday night and is shared on Facebook Thursday around noon, but we’re a little behind schedule with everything it seems, since the time change!
We’ll take a quick look at some of the local Remembrance Day services, then jump into the weekend list. We’re also updating some of our favourite go-to lists of ongoing events and attractions, as well as our list of indoor skating and swimming times: you’ll want to bookmark those and check in whenever you find yourself wondering what to do! We’ll also be working on a massive Christmas list to be shared later this month, so keep an eye out for that, too!
Moncton’s largest Remembrance Day Service takes place at the Coliseum, starting at 10am. (Many families with little ones find this service a bit long.) There are also smaller services at several local parks and legions, including a popular gathering for families at Victoria Park in Moncton.
In Riverview, the Town hosts a service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, starting at 10:50am.
Dieppe’s veteran’s parade forms at 10:30am and marches inside Ecole Anna-Malenfant for a service.
If you opt to observe at home, we have a simple Remembrance Day Wreath craft, and highly recommend Proud as a Peacock, Brave as a Lion and A Poppy is to Remember for reading with young children.
On to the weekend!
Friday is Family Time at Resurgo Place – you can enjoy a special entrance rate in Friday afternoons – and there’s a special offer for kids throughout the month of November – FREE admission – so be sure to schedule a visit soon.

We’re also giving away a ticket (on Facebook) to the Mini Maker Workshop coming up in Moncton on November 26 – a fantastic way to introduce young kids to the world of entrepreneurship and thinking creatively!
