What to do with the kids this weekend in Greater Moncton (Aug 22-24, 2025)

Hello everyone! We’re sliding back into the routine here at Pickle Planet HQ, hoping to get back on track posting weekly for you. We hope everyone has been enjoying the summer, whether you kept all your adventures close to home or went on an epic journey.

In case you’re new to Pickle Planet – welcome! This is a passion project by one mom of three who wants to help everyone (not just our littles!) find something about Greater Moncton that makes them feel like this is a place where they belong. For 10 years I’ve been doing that through weekly round ups, playground profiles, podcast episodes, and more. If you have an event to share, please reach out; there’s no charge to be included in the round up. If you’re looking for promotion (social media shout outs, profiles, etc.), we do offer limited advertising options.

A reminder that it’s YQM Fest weekend, so driving in Dieppe – and anywhere! – may require some pre-planning and patience. There are some short road closures in Dieppe around the concert site, too.

The Kent County Agricultural Fair is underway! East Coast Amusements opens their rides at 1pm today, there’s a circus performance at 8pm, horse competitions and live music, bingo, & more.

YMCA Moncton North’s open house is today, 8:30am-8pm, with events throughout the day & free access to their space – including the indoor splash pad! There will be hands-on crafts & games for kids, bouncy castles, live music, and more during the day. If you’re there in the morning, find our table & say hello!

The Moncton Wildcats are making an appearance at Sport Check at the Champlain Mall, 1-3pm.

The Kent County Agricultural Fair is underway, 8am-11pm today, with agricultural displays & competitions, East Coast Amusements, circus performers, horse shows, live music, and the Farmer Olympics & Tug of War events.

This morning is the 6th annual Plage Aboiteau Beach Triathlon – which means access to the beach isn’t open until noon & there will be some road closures in the area. If you have a teen who enjoys swimming, biking, and running, there’s a Super Sprint course that is open to those ages 14+; pro tip – this shorter-distance course is also open to adults, and we see many parent/child combos making this a new family tradition. Registration is full for this year, but you can come watch! There’s also an info session Saturday evening for those with children who might want to train in the sport with an eye to the 2029 Canada Games.

These attractions & fun ideas are always worth checking out! Look for the 💚 for our TEEN & TWEEN picks!
