Readers – get ready! The one & only Bookstravaganza returns to the Moncton Coliseum this weekend! An agrena filled with pre-loved books, with sales going to support literacy programs. Start your treasure hunting tonight, 5pm. The sale continues Saturday & Sunday.

And speaking of books, Dieppe’s 35th Book Fair is taking place until October 26, with all kinds of amazing events – en Francais. Lots of workshops, readings, & more for all ages.

Friday’s Halloween Events

Foreigner is at the Avenir Centre tonight, with a special performance by the Harrison Trimble High School Vocal Ensemble.

Bookstravaganza continues at the Moncton Coliseum today, 10am-4pm — and Dieppe’s 35th Book Fair continues as well!

Young readers can head to the Moncton Library for a reading by local authors Wilma Mata & Andre Gallant with their book The Tree Who Ran Away, 11am in English.

The GMA’s Indo Canada Association’s Diwali Gala 2025 takes place tonight at the Moncton Coliseum.

Saturday’s Halloween Events:

The Moncton Wildcats host the Halifax Mooseheads at the Avenir Centre for an afternoon game – always great for bringing the kids! The game starts at 3pm.

Bookstravaganza wraps up at the Moncton Coliseum, open 10am-2pm.

It’s Make Something Sunday at the Owen Art Gallery in Sackville.

  • 🏊‍♀️ The indoor splash pad at the YMCA North End is an amazing option for kiddos – with public openings every day of the week! Check the schedule as times vary day-to-day; cost to attend for non-member is $6.
  • 🏊‍♀️ For indoor swimming, there are public options at the YMCA Greater Moncton (love their small, warmer pool for little ones), the Pat Crossman Aquatic Centrein Riverview, and the Dieppe Aquatic Centre (with the awesome sloped entry & pirate ship splash zone!).
  • 👧 Hop! Skip! Jump! is perfect for little ones, as well as the cool climbing wall & laser room for older kids.
  • 💚⚡Burn off energy at SkyZone Moncton; half-price entry on Tuesday nights, and Glow Zone on Fridays & Saturdays.
  • 🏫  Resurgo Place is a spot we love to visit again & again; history, hands-on science & arts, & special programming, too! (Closed on Mondays, including long weekends.)
  • ⛪ MR21 is ‘low key Moncton’s best kept secret’ as my kids say. An incredible visual presentation that tells the history of the Acadian community in a beautiful cathedral in downtown.
  • 📚 Local libraries are always a great spot to visit, with lots of programming for all ages – and also another rainy day must visit option.
  • 💚🎥 Check out what’s playing at Cineplex in Dieppe or Trinity!
  • 💚⛳ The Bunker on Main Street in Moncton is a great indoor golf option & does have times kids are allowed. They also now have a race car simulator! There are more than 50 cars you can choose from & more than 30 tracks to try – it’s not a little kid game.
  • 💚🛹 Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!
  • 💚🎳 Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Marvelous Holy Bowly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed.)
  • 💚🎮Book a booth at GG Bistro for some gaming fun & great eats!
  • 💚🎨 Creative mood? Try DIY Studio to paint your own pottery!
  • 💚🪨 Want to move as a family but need to be indoors? Try a visit to FitRocks Climbing Gym!

  • 💚🔐 Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up. There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time.

  • 💚🎶 Teens & youth (ages 12-25) can book a two-hour spot at Riverview’s Sound Lab for just $2/person. The lab has professional recording software, an electric guitar, bass guitar, electric drum kit, keyboard, microphones, & two amps.
  • 💚💥 Gamer in the family? The Comic Hunter hosts Friday Night Magic Modern sessions,  Sunday Lorcana LocalsMonday Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Play & lots of other gaming events.
  • 🎲 Board Miniatures also hosts regular table top sessions for various games & free board game days, too!
  • 🤘 BGC Dieppe is always a great place for families to connect, with lots of programming open to everyone.

  • We’re always down to pretend we’ve hopped a plane to France with a trip to Tony’s for pastries. They have three great spots to explore – the original bistro on McLaughlinDieppe, and now in Downtown Moncton!
  • Crumbl FOMO? Head to our own The Cookie Jar in Dieppe! It’s super cute & yummy – and right next to the awesome Bennic Dairy Bar for ice cream creations!

The Evergreen Park Home & School is planning a Touch-A-Truck & Trunk or Treat event at the school, Tuesday, October 28 from 5:30-7pm.

There’ll be a fun night of Chocolate Bar Bingo at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre, starting at 6pm on Tuesday, October 28.

Dieppe’s Maison Doiron will offer haunting tours this season, intended for those 16 years and over. The 30-40 minute adventure is presented to small groups, sometimes in French, sometimes in English. Please reserve your spot in advance; admission by donation. There are tours Wednesday, October 29 & Thursday, October 30.

Riverview’s Youth Drop In is hosting a pumpkin painting party, 7-9pm on October 29, for ages 12-17.

Salisbury Regional School’s annual Ghost Walk returns, 6-8pm on Wednesday, October 29. $5/adult, $3/students. (Not for the faint of heart!)

Little Shop of Horrors at the Empress Theatre. Shows Thursday, October 30 through Sunday, November 2.

Friday, October 31:

Nerdful Things Moncton is giving out Poke packs again on Saturday, November 1, for anyone who doesn’t celebrate Halloween.

Birchmount School is hosting a Holiday Craft Market, November 1, 10am-2pm.

Boyle Family Farm is holding a Pumpkin Smash Festival November 1 & 2 (general farm admission rates apply). Bring your pumpkin — free of candles, paint, ribbons or any other non-organic materials — to the farm and enjoy pumpkin bowling, pumpkin chucking, pumpkin putt-putt and more! (Composted pumpkins are used to help feed animals on the farm and to enrich the soil for next year’s crop.)

Sunday, November 2 at the Capitol Theatre, enjoy a screening of the 1922 silent movie, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, with a brand-new original score composed by New Brunswick’s Andrew Reed Miller and performed live by members of Symphony New Brunswick.

Everyone is invited to take part in the Day of the Dead celebration at Gaxiola Mexican Restaurant in Salisbury on November 2, 2-4pm. You can send a photo of your loved one in advance, or drop off you pictures in person.

A reminder that Home Depot holds kids’ workshops but you need to snag a spot quickly! The next registration opens Nov 10.

Michael’s also offers in-store kids’ club events; there are lots of great Christmas-themed projects coming up!
