Teaching your kids about money is way more than understanding how much change you’ll get back if you buy that bar with a $5 bill. But not everyone feels empowered to properly show young people how to save, how to spend, and how to make your money work for you. That’s when we search for the people who do know how to start these conversations and have created tools to help us do it – like this week’s guest, Nigel Wyles. He’s a dad to three daughters, as well as a branch manager with Credit Unions. He joins Jenna & Tosh to talk through tips for helping your child open a bank account, helping your teen with their first credit card, basic budgets, and more. If you’re looking for additional help, including the worksheets referenced in the podcast, check out the Credit Unions’ Honest Money resources page.
The Jenna & Tosh Show is a co-production of Pickle Planet Moncton and The Podcast Hub, and is recorded & aired by Rogers TV New Brunswick. New episodes available each Monday; full archive available on the website.
