Teaching parents how to talk with our kids about sex
Sexual education has come a long way from stilted ‘the birds & the bees’ conversations of the past – and yet parents still often find themselves stumbling for the best way to provide their children with the information they need, when they need it, in a way that’s age appropriate. Thankfully, we can turn to Sex Ed East for help!
Sex Ed East is run by Dr. Lisa Dawn Hamilton, a sex educator, researcher, & professor, with sex educator Bonnie Fisher, a research coordinator at the Mount Allison Sexual Health Lab. Through workshops and one-on-one sessions, Sex Ed East aims to empower participants and promote shame-free sexuality.
In this episode, Bonnie & Lisa Dawn share tips on being an askable parent, books that can help educate everyone from preschoolers to teenagers, and talk a bit about what you can expect from a Sex Ed for Parents workshop.
