On to this weekend’s family fun!
The students of Crandall University are staging a theatrical performance of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe this weekend, with shows Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. There is special pricing for children and families.
Astronomy Moncton is offering a free telescope clinic and training session for beginners, followed by a skygazing session, on Friday night.
Winter isn’t over yet – still time to skate on the Oval in Dieppe and enjoy tunes with DJ Sonny D Friday night!
The Wildcats have a home game Friday evening and one Saturday afternoon.
Cineplex’s Family Favourite film this week is Wonder. Watch for lots of fun movie choices during March Break!
Scholar’s Choice stores are celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday with activities on Saturday from noon until 2pm. There will be stories, crafts, puzzles, and more.
Toys R Us is holding a LEGO make & take Saturday morning.
Spring is in the air at Michaels, with Kids Club crafts focusing on butterflies and birds, and an afternoon workshop with sensory glitter jars.
Celebrate the Olympics at Resurgo Place this weekend with nickel hockey, livestream coverage, and ‘superfoods for superhumans’ exhibit. (The closing ceremonies are Sunday morning!)
The Acadian Library at U de M is holding a launch event Saturday afternoon for Denis M. Boucher’s latest novel.
Roland et Monsieur Crapaud are performing in Cap Pele on Saturday afternoon.
The creative juices will be flowing in Sackville Saturday afternoon when the main hall of the Sackville Commons is filled with cardboard boxes and materials to transform them into whatever your imagination can create! The art fun is to be followed by a community meal and disco party.
The Saint John String Quartet perform at Resurgo Place Saturday evening; children are admitted free to the performance.
And the wait is over! Mary Poppins The Musical opens this weekend at The Capitol! There are evening and matinee performances until March 4; be sure to check it out!
Ana Banana is hosting a cloth diapering information session at the shop on Sunday. A great chance to check out products and talk about the pros and cons of cloth. (We were a cloth diapering family – yes, even with twins! – and it was a fantastic investment and experience.)
The Moncton Magic host Halifax Sunday afternoon. The team is offering buy one, get one free tickets for this game – and children five and under are always free. There will also be bouncy castles, face painting, and more set up for this special Family Day celebration.
Looking ahead to just after March Break, be sure to register for our first parent & kid workshop, creating Painted Cactus Rock Gardens, co-hosted and led by the fabulous Carte Blanche Upcycled Furniture & Accessories.
