There’s an easy answer to how to find adoption support in our province: the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation. This non-profit was the first of its kind in Canada, bringing together the province, private sector, community groups, and individuals and families with the goal of increasing adoption of children within the permanent care of the province.
Patricia Estabrooks is an adoptive mom, and the foundation’s regional coordinator in Southeastern New Brunswick. She joins Jenna & Tosh to talk about the more than 500 children in New Brunswick who are under the care of the government — nearly half of whom are over the age of 11 and at risk of ageing out of care without a family support network — and how her organization is helping families and children navigate this journey.
