S6E36: Fast Fashion Shopping meets Old Fashioned Rug Hooking in public participation art project
Fast fashion’s environmental impact is being explored with a hands-on project by textile artist Mélanie Paulin, the current artist-in-residence at the Dieppe Arts & Culture Centre. She’s inviting the public to take part, bringing old clothes into her studio to incorporate them into a large hooked rug that highlights the 79 trillion litres of water used by the fashion industry each year. Jenna & Tosh learn more about the project while adding their own fabrics to the project. (You can do the same for the next few weeks, too! Check out The Water We Wear at the Centre until July 9.)
