2024 Guide to Easter Events & Activities in Greater Moncton

Happy almost Easter, everyone! Good Friday is March 29, 2024; this is a holiday in New Brunswick, so expect most things to be closed. The Easter Bunny hops on by most local homes on Saturday night, with families waking up to treats on Easter Sunday morning, March 31. Monday, April 1 is a holiday for some – including schools, so get ready for an extra long weekend! It’s also April Fool’s Day, so watch out for tricksters.

PRO TIP: We’ll keep adding events to this round up as we find them – so be sure to let us know if you’re hosting something we should include & check back often! And remember – check the source links before heading out. We do our best to update as we see changes, but we can’t always catch schedule changes, weather impacts, etc.

Emerald Oak Photography is offering drop-in Easter minis! Head to Ready, Set, Grow in Riverview on Saturday, March 16 between noon & 4:30pm. You’ll get a beautiful family photo for just $40. Some of our favourite seasonal photos were taken by Emerald Oak; you won’t be disappointed, we’re sure!

Many families make Easter Bunny photos at Bass Pro part of their annual tradition; you can reserve your spot now!

The Ukrainian Easter Bazaar 2024 is taking place Saturday, March 23 at the Coverdale Centre in Riverview. There will be Ukrainian food, handcrafted items for sale, music, an egg decorating workshop, and more! Enjoy varenyky (perogies) and borscht, peruse Petrykivka artworks and Vyshyvanka shirts, have your hair braided in the Ukrainian style, and learn about Pysanka egg decorating. The Bazaar is open 11am-3pm; admission is $5 for those ages 13 & over. Additional fees are required for the Pysanka workshop; you should purchase your ticket for this online in advance.

Highfield Baptist Church will be at Centennial Park on Saturday, March 23 to host a scavenger hunt with an Easter story theme. Find them on site at 2pm to get a map!

The Art Room in Moncton has a 2.5 hour drop-off Easter-theme kids’ craft event happening. Cost is $35; reach out to see if you can snag the last spots – and follow them for more great crafty adventures! Call 506-688-7931 for more info.

The Mom Market Moncton is hosting a Hop & Shop Easter vendor fair at Canvas Moncton Sunday, March 24, 10am-3pm. There will be a kids’ activity table, a photographer, and a visit from the Easter Bunny!

There’s an Easter-themed vendor market at the Riverview Lion’s Club on Saturday, March 23, 10am-3pm. Entry is free; there will be free face painting and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance!

If you’re looking for a fun Easter treat, Candy Depot is again offering deliveries by the Easter Bunny on Friday, March 29 in Moncton, Riverview, & Dieppe! (There’s also an in-store colouring contest for kids up to age 14; drop off by March 24 to be entered. You’ll get 10% your purchase when you do.)

Looking for fun, local treats? Head to Adorable Chocolat in Shediac for some amazing creations (make it a lunch trip – you won’t be disappointed!), order some Ganong’s Easter bundles online, or head to Moncton’s La Rouere to see what they’re making! If you have dietary challenges and are looking for dairy-free or nut-free or gluten-free or sugar-free options, we always check The Wellness Exchange and MacArthur’s Market! For fun treat options & inspiration, head to The Candy Depot!

Biker Bunny is back – and Mrs. Biker Bunny is joining him this year! You can follow their adventures on their Facebook page. They travel local neighbourhoods, from March 28 to April 1, spreading joy and smiles. You can send a special request, too; and remember, they collect donations for Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program. (This weekend’s weather may impact their adventures, but paws crossed!)

Trueman Blueberry Farms’s 2024 Easter Egg Hunt is taking place Friday, March 29. This is a great family outing – you’ll collect eggs around the farm, enjoy a train ride, play games, and visit with the Easter Bunny! Plus, Island Hill Farm will be on site with some of their animals! Tickets should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment; cost is $20+tax (those 23 months and younger are free). The event begins at 9:30am & ends at 2pm.

Beloved Miniature Horses are opening for Easter farm visits! Friday, March 29 & Saturday, March 30, noon to 4pm. Entry is $10, under age three free. (Cash only.)

Boyle Family Farm (Lutes Mountain) is open to the public Friday, March 29 & Saturday, March 30, 10am-4pm (last entry at 3pm). Indoor petting zoo, wagon rides, Easter scavenger hunt, bonfires, pony rides, and more! They have baby cows, chicks, lambs, a donkey, & so many more animals. Entry is $43.48 for family (two adults, two or more children – max six people), $13.05 general, $8.70 for 65+, and two years old & younger are free; all plus HST. Please follow the directions for parking in back of the entrance; watch for the signs.

Broadleaf Ranch is hosting its Easter Bonanza on Saturday, March 30. The Robin’s Nest Hobby Farm will be on site with critters to meet, the Ranch Restaurant will be open, there will be face painting, crafts, an egg hunt, and a visit from the Easter Bunny! Cost is $5/child; make it a mini getaway & stay in one of their great cabins or fun glamping cottages!

The Riverview Indoor Skate Park is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30 at 1pm. Bring you own basket! (The park is closed for Good Friday & Easter Sunday; no charge to join the egg hunt Saturday, regular rates apply to skate.)

Memramcook is hosting an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30 at 11am at Monument-Lefebvre.

Sackville’s Church by the Lake is hosting a free Easter event for ages 10 & under on Saturday, March 30. Registration at 1:30pm, age-appropriate egg hunts to follow. There will be face painting, balloon animals, crafts, & more.

We see the Easter Bunny is planning a visit to Moncton’s Once Upon a Child consignment shop on Saturday, March 30, 11am-1pm.

Another annual tradition for many families is the Easter Blast at the Moncton Wesleyan Church. This year the event is being held Saturday, March 30, 8am – noon. The church will have bouncy castles, LEGO land, glow room, games, breakfast, and of course an egg hunt! Register in advance for quicker entry to this free event.

There’s also a family-focused Easter event at the New Hope Community Church on Saturday, March 30, 2-4pm. This afternoon Easter Funfair will include carnival activity stations, a skit, and more.

The People’s Pavillion in Riverview is hosting a series of in-shop easter egg hunts & wreath workshops on April 1; you need to book in advance, as spaces are limited. (Pro Tip: Make plans to stay on site & enjoy a Cream Egg coffee from Aaron’s Coffee House.)

We know there’ll be more events than this (we hear the Riverview Skate Park & Youth Drop In are working on plan!), so keep coming back; we’ll update as we find activities to share! (You can also send us your events to be sure we don’t miss them.)

And don’t forget – these are just the Easter-themed events! It’s also maple syrup season, with many great camps open to the public to visit this weekend, too.

  • 🍁 Renton Brothers Family Sugarbush (1270 Gorge Road, Moncton – the one with the smiling face) is open 9:30am-4pm.
  • 🍁 Trites Maples (1270 Gorge Road, Moncton – the 4th camp with the green metal roof) is open for their pancake breakfast starting at 8am on Saturday.
  • 🍁Fundy Maple (6 Dewey Road, Turtle Creek/Riverview) is open 10am-3pm; tours at 11am & 1pm.
  • 🍁 Chateau Scoudouc (2862 route 132, Scoudouc) is open for breakfast, 9am-1pm.
  • 🍁 White’s Maple is open for breakfast 8am – noon.

While many stores, schools, & offices will be closed Friday (and many Monday, too), some entertainment & eating establishments will be open throughout the weekend. Here are a few places you might be wondering about or interested in visiting:

🏒 The Moncton Wildcats play Friday & Saturday night; both games at 7pm.

👧 Hop! Skip! Jump! is open Friday (10am-2pm, 3-7pm), Saturday (9am-2pm, 3-8pm), Sunday (9am-2pm, 3-8pm), & Monday (10am-2pm, 3-7pm).

🦘 SkyZone is open Friday (2-10pm), Saturday (10am-10pm), Sunday (10am-6pm), & Monday (noon-8pm).

♟️Board Miniatures will be open Friday, 10am-10pm. Drop in for the day to play board games or paint for $10.

🚂 Riverview’s Coverdale Centre will be host to a Model Train Show on Saturday, 9am – 4pm.

🍦Ice cream is always a great treat & Bennic is open at noon Friday, Saturday, & Sunday with crushed mini eggs as a topping option.

🍦Trueman’s Blueberry Farm is also a fabulous ice cream destination – and on the weekend they have a train you can ride! Watch for some fun Easter Bunny sightings here soon, too.

🛹 Riverview Indoor Skatepark & Riverview Youth Centre are a great space to learn to skate or practice your skills!

🎳 Bowling is always a fun idea! Go retro vibes with Holy Moly in Riverview, check out glow bowling times at Fairlanes in Moncton, or head to Bowlarama & its awesome arcade in Dieppe. (We recommend calling ahead to book in advance so you’re not disappointed. Fairlanes offers Glow Bowling on Friday nights – including Good Friday!)

🎨 Creative mood? Try DIY Studio to paint your own pottery! Open all Easter weekend

🔐 Up for a challenge? Room Escape Atlantic usually has a few non-scary, kid-friendly options & Mystery Moncton Mystere is great for the teens & up (closed Monday). There are also online options you can purchase to play on your own time, like … Motive for Murder audio game — A great ‘any time of day’ option for the true crime fans who are up for a little hometown sleuthing. 🐟 Bass Pro’s 12,000-gallon freshwater aquarium with striped bass, Atlantic sturgeon, trout, perch, and more is always fun to visit. And of course, the Easter Bunny is on site now, too!
