Welcome to another long weekend for the school kiddos! Be sure to check your district calendars; our kiddos have this Friday, March 22 off, as well as April 5, April 19 & 22 (for Easter), May 3, and May 17 & 20 (PD and Victoria Day), so we’re going to be making sure there is lots of weekend inspiration here to keep us busy!
Fridays include free drop-in gym time at the Crossman Centre; parents and tots in the morning (10am until noon), kids in kindergarten to Grade 4 2:15-3:30pm, followed by Grades 5 to 8 (3:30-4:45pm) and high schoolers from 5pm to 6pm.
Friday afternoon Brilliant Labs will be at the Riverview Public Library to talk about the moon base of the future. No registration required; ages six and up.
The Dieppe Boys & Girls Club invite everyone to their annual Hawaiian Beach Party event on Friday night. Enjoy pizza, snacks, fancy drinks, beach ball volleyball, karaoke, face painting, and more! The cost is $5/person for those five and up.
Looking for a drop-in activity for your older kids? The Boys & Girls Club of Riverview has free programming each Monday through Friday night at the Coverdale Centre from 6:30pm to 9pm. Call 387-7070 ext 106 for details and check out their Facebook page for details.
This weekend is the 30th annual Home Show, presented by the Greater Moncton Home Builders Association. Children 12 and under are free; general adult admission is $10. There are more than 165 displays; lots of renovation and design inspiration! (Planning to move soon? Check out our tips for staging your home with kids!) The event is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and a weekend pass is just $13.50.

Saturday is the Community Power Up gaming convention hosted by the Riverview Boys & Girls Club. Enjoy video games, board games, role playing games, trading card games, special guests, and more!
A reminder to YMCA regulars that Saturday night is the annual Battle of the Brains, so check the schedule for any changes that might impact your plans!
The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra performs Saturday night at the Wesleyan Centre, with special guests Troiselle and Les Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie.
The Moncton Library is offering a financial literacy workshop for teens on Sunday; call 869-6000, option 3 to register.
It’s Make Something Sunday at the Owens Art Gallery in Sackville. This month, youth (under 12, adult accompaniment) can create a paper character and bring it to life with simple animation.
This is the last weekend to skate on the Oval in Dieppe, and most other outdoor winter activities.
Shediac is holding a community celebration to welcome spring on Sunday. Enjoy a pancake breakfast for $5, maple on snow for $3, and lots of fun!
Sunday openings continue at the Magnetic Hill Zoo this weekend; a great chance to get out outside and support the Zoo!
You might want to make a Sunday visit to Riverview’s Community hall for the annual Hello Spring! Vendor & Craft Bazaar, organized by LBC Events. Some fantastic local vendors are registered.
